Hebron Prom 2012: Shannon

I've known Shannon since we were just kids. Her older sister, Ashley, is my age, and Shannon is my younger sister's, Emily, age. Our families would have the four of us play together all the time when we were kids. I have a picture of all four of us dressed up in costumes. Ashley and I were maybe six and Emily and Shannon were four. I am wearing a red dress with a little white cap that has a picture of Ariel on the front; Ashley is wearing a yellow Belle dress; Shannon is wearing a small too too on her head and a pink boa around her neck; Emily is wearing a purple wizard dress and wizard cone hat, of course the hat has a golden moon sewed on top. So, Shannon went from little kid dress up to big girl dress up. For her Senior Prom, she chose to wear an extremely stylish and trendy dress that had tiny mirrors make up the dress that went down to her knees. A train was also attached to the back, making an asymmetrical look.

Emily's Seniors

My little sister Emily graduated this past year. I, of course, was in charge of her senior portraits. It made me feel so old to see her graduate. It was just two years ago when I walked across the stage, but it feels like a century. Emily will be attending Texas State in August to pursue her dream of acting. Super proud of you baby sister!

Miles' Seniors

I first met Miles when I did my sister's homecoming group pictures. His mom loved the photos of him and his date that she hired me to do his senior portraits. She wanted to shoot at the Shops at Legacy, a place that I am very familiar with. He chose to wear a suit and have a change of casual jeans and button down shirt. 

                          

Ryan and Cathy

I've known Ryan since I was a baby. We are born two days apart and were raised in the same church. We would always joke around with each other cause he was born on Good Friday and I was born on Easter. When I was six, my parents rented out a cabin in New Mexico that belonged to some people from our church. I personally didn't really like New Mexico. I always got sick on the reservation that we always toured. One year my parents invited the Kinkades to come with us. In the cabin there was this loft that us kids always slept in. You had to climb up this ladder that was nailed up against the wall. The little loft had no AC and just a little night light, but it was like our own little hide out. One night we were watching Mulan on the tiny TV and that's when Ryan made the realization that I looked just like Mulan. That was when he realized I was part Chinese. I'm glad he realized this when we were kids. Now we're grown up and I was so excited to take pictures of Ryan and his long standing girlfriend, Cathy.

We were almost done when I saw "Love" written on the post. I thought it
was just perfect.

Both of them are Aggies, so it seemed appropriate
to show their school spirit.

Cathy is a ballet dancer. I always love throwing dance into my shots someway!

Madison at Open Bell

My friend, Sarah, asked me to go with her to see her friend, Madison, perform at Open Bell in Dallas. Open Bell is this bar/coffee house that's underground. It allows for aspiring musicians to perform. Madison was pretty good. She reminded me of Taylor Swift a bit. Her songs were just happy in that way. Of course I took the opportunity to get a few pics ;)

There was another musician there as well. I don't know his full name, his first name was Jason. He played before Madison and he was good as well. 

Chow Cousins at Christmas

Throughout the year my cousins on my mom's side all gather at my family's home. This is because our grandma lives with my family. When we're all together it's just awesome. We go shopping, see movies, and we used to go to Dave and Busters all the time (nowadays they don't have anything good to waste tickets on). One time my older cousins were actually blockaded by the "bouncers" cause they weren't 21 at the time. They were just trying to get in to find my dad, their uncle. It was kinda funny at the time. So this is December 2011, before the new year.

Once an Editor

When I was in high school, I was on the yearbook staff. I steadily made my way up in ranks; going from a staff member to Layout Editor for my senior year. It was difficult at times and of course stressful. There were three other top editors with me. Stephanie, Editor in Chief; Brian, Copy Editor; and Alec, Photo Editor. We each had our own jobs, but we also helped out each other from time to time. We may all be different from each other, but we were able to coincide with one another. Together the three of us were able to pull together an awesome yearbook for our senior year. At least once a year when we're home from college, we try to get together to just talk and catch up.
