I knew Ashley from our elementary school days. We lived in the same neighborhood and we were really good friends. Ashley moved when we were in middle school. When I moved to Austin start my first year at St. Ed's we met up and had lunch. We caught up and talked about everything we've been up to. It was so great to see an old friend from my childhood! This year Ashley graduated University of Texas and she will be going on to med school in the fall.

Boho Style Shoot
My friend Vinny Nguyen is a wonderful photographer. His company is called Street Hero Productions. Vinny invited me to work with models for a Boho shoot he was asked to do. It was definitely a different experience doing a fashion shoot with trained models.

Country Railroad
One day I stumbled upon this railroad out in the middle of the country. I loved how no one was around and the sky was a beautiful clear blue. Texas is perfect that you can drive a few hours away from the city and reach the country. Here are a few of my favorite shots with different types of editing applied to them.

Caitlin and Tyler Bluebonnet Engagements
I shot Caitlin and Tyler's hockey themed engagements earlier this year. The two then asked me to do a spring engagement shoot in the bluebonnets. The St. Edward's hilltop fills with bluebonnets every spring. I LOVE it! The bluebonnets are another thing that make my university so amazing. The two organized a weekend trip to come down and take pictures on the hill. As the weeks and days to the shoot drew closer, I constantly messaged and texted Kaitlin with updates on the shoot. In typical April Texas weather, there was a chance for rain on their shoot date. I kept praying that the rain will hold off so we could do the shoot that they wanted. Luckily, the rain did hold off. There was overcast, but we were able to go on the hill and finish the rest of their engagement photos.

Friends and Peacocks
In Austin, there is a wonderful place where peacocks roam freely. This place is called Mayfield Nature Preserve. There is the main house and area where the peacocks are. The peacocks also have a habit of walking around the parking lot, so you need to be careful when pulling in. You might recognize some of the faces in these photos from previous shoots I've had. I asked some of my friends to go on an exploratory shoot with me. We hiked the paths that surround the preserve and explored it all. Personally, I really liked the trails that follow along the river. After our shoot, I am now a lover of peacocks.

Caitlin and Tyler Hockey Engagements
The girl in these photos might look familiar to you. I took photos of Caitlin a couple of years ago when I was really starting out Flying Lantern Photography (then I was called Erin Nicole Photography). Caitlin and her fiancé, Tyler, both play roller hockey. During my last week of winter break, I met up with them to do a hockey themed engagement shoot. I had never done a hockey themed shoot before so this was a brand new experience for me! Luckily, they play roller hockey, so I didn't have to try and shoot while keeping balance on skates. I will also be photographing Caitlin and Tyler in the spring for a full engagement shoot in the bluebonnets.

Diana Farrar
I know Ms. Diana Farrar from my home church, Nor'kirk Presbyterian. She is currently working on a novel and she needed professional photos for the book and her upcoming website. While I was back home in Dallas for Thanksgiving break, we were able to do a quick shoot. I went to her home and we were able to get some gorgeous shots outside. Sadly, the sun was blocked by the roof of her house. However, I think we were able to get some nice shots for her to use!
